Web Development Intern

Are you a coding geek? Do you send text messages with bits of code for <p><strong>emphasis<strong><p>? Do you enjoy browsing your favorite websites’ source code? Do you strive to stay on top of web programming and development ideas and trends? If you crave an opportunity to put your programming talents to work and gain experience along the way, Sitewise Digital may be the perfect fit.

Sitewise Digital, a digital marketing company, that specializes in web design, is seeking a Web Programmer Intern to spend a minimum 10 hours per week assisting our programming efforts. This internship is an unpaid position for the first semester with the option of work over the break. The position may continue beyond as a paid internship.

As an intern you will be responsible for application design, development, testing, debugging and documentation for the Sitewise website as well as our clients’ websites. Our ideal candidate is someone who has a strong sense of order and looks to make the complex simple.

As an intern you will expand your knowledge and understanding of:

  • Web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP
  • Coding, apps and the frontend and backend of websites.
  • Software, hardware and computer languages.
  • How to resolve bugs.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is a current undergraduate/graduate student in Computer Science, Computer and Information Technology, Web Programming and
  • Design or other related discipline.
  • Is proficient in Microsoft Office, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP.
  • Has skills in analyzing, evaluating and troubleshooting.
  • Has strong communication, writing, proofreading and editing skills.
  • Is highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Is able to work collaboratively and with limited supervision at times.
  • It’s a plus if you:

Have at least one year experience in web design using a content management system such as WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, etc. and/or experience with responsive coding. Understand how utilize templates with content management systems.

Graphics Intern

Are you a wonder with Adobe Illustrator? Do your friends call you a “font nerd?” Do you strive to stay on top of new ideas and trends in graphic design? If you crave an opportunity to put your social media talents to work and gain experience along the way, Sitewise Digital may be the perfect fit.   As an intern you will help build the Sitewise brand through the use of graphic design for infographics, web graphics and other materials. Our ideal candidate is someone who is creative and adept communicating information in a visual format. As an intern, you will learn:

  • How to create excellent graphic design that aids in communicating a message.
  • How to develop infographics for Sitewise and clients.
  • How to communicate through the use of visual tools.
  • How to create compelling content that will be shared.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is a current undergraduate/graduate student in Graphic Design, Visual Communication Design, Computer Graphics Technology or other related discipline.
  • Is proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop).
  • Has strong communication skills.
  • Is proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Is highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Is able to work collaboratively and with limited supervision at times.

It’s a plus if you:

  • Have experience with creating infographics.

Social Media Intern

Are you a social media guru? Can you find and share stories, photos, videos and memes that motivate people to engage with a business or brand? Do you strive to stay on top of Twitter, Instagram and Facebook ideas and trends? If you crave an opportunity to put your social media talents to work and gain experience along the way, Sitewise Digital may be the perfect fit. As an intern you will help build the Sitewise brand through the use of social media and will expand our clients’ social media presence. Our ideal candidate is someone who is creative and thoughtful when interacting with online communities and building relationships. As an intern will learn:

  • How to create a social media plan and strategy.
  • How to use scheduling tools such as Hootsuite to post to social media.
  • How to build relationships with online communities by maintaining Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and other media accounts for us and our clients.
  • How to track social media analytics using HootSuite and other software.
  • How to create compelling content that will be shared.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is a current undergraduate/graduate student in Marketing, Communication, Public Relations, Advertising or other related discipline.
  • Has strong communication, writing, proofreading and editing skills.
  • Is proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Has knowledge of social media – Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, blogs, etc.
  • Is highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Is able to work collaboratively and with limited supervision at times.

It’s a plus if you:

  • Have experience with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and/or other graphic design software.
  • Know how to create videos for use with social media.

As a video intern you will help build the Sitewise brand through the use video on social media and short instructional videos. Our ideal candidate is someone who is creative and adept at capturing great moments on video. As an intern you will learn:

  • How to create video strategy to compliment social media efforts.
  • How to develop video to help clients learn to use Sitewise tools.
  • How to build relationships online through video.
  • How to create compelling content that will be shared.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is a current undergraduate/graduate student in Film and Theatre Production, Studio Arts and Technology, Animation, Computer Graphics Technology or other related discipline.
  • Has strong communication skills.
  • Is proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Has knowledge of social media – Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, blogs, etc.–and how video can be integrated on these platforms.
  • Is highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Is able to work collaboratively and with limited supervision at times.

It’s a plus if you:

  • Have experience with video editing tools.

Are you a whiz with words? Can you find ways to describe things that most people wouldn’t consider? Do you strive to connect with others through exceptionally written anecdotes and narratives? If you crave an opportunity to put your writing talents to work and gain experience along the way, Sitewise Digital may be the perfect fit.   As an intern you will help build the Sitewise brand through the use of blogs. Our ideal candidate is someone who enjoys telling a story and is a fantastic writer. As an intern you will learn:

  • How to write professional online content.
  • How to find and pitch compelling story ideas.
  • How to create an editorial calendar that works with the social media calendar.
  • How to write blogs while ensuring SEO (search engine optimization).
  • How to create compelling content that will be shared.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is a current undergraduate/graduate student in Journalism, Creative Writing, Mass Communication, Professional Writing or other related discipline.
  • Has strong communication, writing, proofreading and editing skills.
  • Is proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Is highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Is able to work collaboratively and with limited supervision at times.

It’s a plus if you:

  • Understand how search engine optimization works with regard to blogs.
